   this might be a counterfeit guitar, look at the control knob arrangement, it should be parrallel to the neckline, (e.g. tone-volume lineup parrallel to neck) it should NOT be pointing towards the scratchplate screw that holds the scratchplate away from the body

   also it has the dodgy truss rod cover

   and for the serial number? its easy to crack the codes for it, or just copy the serial from another guitar..

   email gibson, send them pictures, they will tell you if its legit

   A counterfeit Epi? That’s a new one on me! One of these just went today on Ebay for just over £170. Unplayed condition.
